Study finds increased cancer risk in periodontitis patients

Patients with severe periodontal disease have a 24% greater risk of developing certain cancers than patients with no or mild periodontal disease, according to a new study. Researchers also found that even patients who never smoked had an increased risk of cancer if they had severe periodontal disease.
