Wales has become the first country in the UK to introduce a nationwide ban on the intimate piercing of under-18s from today, February 1. PICTURE: Danny Lawson/PA Wire The aim of the new law is to protect children and young people from the potential health harms which can be caused by an intimate piercing. The change will come under the Public Health Act 2017, prohibiting the intimate piercing of persons under the age of 18 in Wales.
