"I have seen my death!" Those were the words uttered by Bertha Roentgen upon viewing a skeletal photo of her hand. Her husband, Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, a Bavarian physicist, produced this first radiograph of the human body after discovering X-rays on Nov. 8, 1895.
