Dentists warn that the high sugar content of the popular bubbly could rot your teeth

Britons drank 40 million litres of the Italian sparkling wine last year, and dentists warn that its high sugar content could rot heavy drinkers' teeth. Dr Mervyn Druian, of the London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry, told The Daily Mail that like with any sweet treat, occasional indulgence should be fine.
